Author Resources

Hey, there! If you’re reading this, then you must be an author — or future author — at Musings on Life and Love. This section of the site will provide you with all the information you need on writing with us, whether as a one-shot guest author or a regular contributor.

Signing Up

The first thing you’ll need is a WordPress.com username. This will allow you to submit posts and be listed as an author at Musings. It will also allow you access to certain parts of the site reserved for authors only. Even if you’re only doing a one-shot guest post, you’ll need a username for the post to be credited to you.

If you already have a WordPress.com account, please give me your username and email. If you need to register an account first, you can do so here.

Once you give me your username and email, I will invite you to our writers’ workshop….

The Writers’ Workshop

We have a private site that we use as a writers’ workshop, where we pitch and discuss post ideas. Even if you have a completed article that you’d like to submit, please post it in the workshop, so that we can discuss it in a transparent manner. My policy is to go back and forth with each author until we come to a mutually satisfying final pitch.

You can find the workshop here.

Once we’ve reached a point in your pitch that we’re both happy with, I will ask you to submit it as a draft at Musings.

Submitting Your Draft

To start writing your draft, please log into Musings using your WordPress.com credentials. Once you log in, you’ll be able to access the following links:

  • For guidelines on submitting your first post or just a one-shot guest post, click here.
  • If you’re planning to be a regular — or at least recurring — contributor, please click here for some extra introductory information.
  • Once your first post has been published, please click here.

And that’s basically it! If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line, or just post a comment below. Welcome to Musings on Life and Love!
