We are seeking writers who have meaningful stories to share, who have a witty and entertaining style of writing, and who believe in the importance of communication between people of all shapes and sizes. We want real people, with real experiences and real stories.

What to write about

If you are wondering what we’d like you to write about, the answer is… anything you want! Musings on Life and Love has only two rules:

1. Every article should have a lesson to be learned (humor articles being the exception—and even then, humorous articles often teach the best lessons). Keep in mind that people will be more receptive if you teach by sharing personal experiences and the lessons you learned, rather than lecturing from a soapbox and telling others what they should be learning. Our goal is not to dictate to others, but rather, to share our stories and hope that they spark insight and self-reflection in our readers.

2. No insults or blanket bashing of a gender, ethnicity, sexuality, or any other type of group. The point of the site is to learn from each other, not engage in a bitch-fest. If you’re going to poke fun, poke fun at individual people or specific behaviors, not at an entire group of people. In any case, we recommend that you poke fun at yourself first. To paraphrase a deceased zombie (or is that redundant?), start with the man—or woman—in the mirror.

Whom we’re looking for

We are looking for intelligent, witty writers who have a strong grasp of the English language. The professionalism of the site depends not just on good style, but also on proper grammar. If you don’t have the best grammar, but your style is awesome, then we might be willing to be your editor. Of course, we’d rather write, so the ability to use proper English will definitely be a plus!

How often to contribute

Post articles as often as you wish. If you want to contribute regularly, great! If you only have one or two ideas, please share whatever you have (or want) to share. Or, if you already have your own blog, and you would just like to cross-post articles that fit the spirit of this site, that works, too. No matter your contributions, we’d love for you to become a member of our community! And, don’t worry, you retain ownership of everything you write on this site.

What’s in it for you

We’ll be perfectly honest. We dream of turning the site into a place where thousands of readers eagerly go not necessarily for dating advice, but simply to gain insight into the minds of others. Lofty goals, we know. If the site does take off, we’ll be happy to split any profits as a team. But at this point, all we can offer you is possibilities.

Think of it as an investment. If you believe in our mission, if you believe in your own writing skills, and perhaps most importantly of all, if the rest of the world believes in us, then absolutely, there will be opportunities for financial gain. We’ll just have to wait and see.
